MOORINGS ON ULLSWATER
On Ullswater you can enjoy the excellent sailing and quiet anchorages surrounded by spectacular scenery. World class hotels restaurants and pubs are all within easy reach by sail, foot or vehicle.
Licenses for moorings are available at three location on the East of the lake. At each location there are places to park allowing you to access your vessel and enjoy the lake.
The fees for the swinging moorings for the 2024 season (1 April to 31 October) are as follows:
Eusemere (near Pooley Bridge) – £425.00 plus 20% VAT = £510.00
Gale Bay (between Eusemere and the Waterside camp site) – £425.00 plus 20% VAT = £510.00
Sharrow Bay (between the Hotel and Ravencragg - a sheltered bay near to the yacht club closer to the centre of the lake and quieter) – £700.00 plus 20% VAT = £840
The fees can be pro-rated from July if you start later in the season.
How to book
We offer a discount for all applications and payments received by 15th March at the start of the season. You can also spread the cost of your licence fee and we offer different ways to pay. Please refer to the Payment Options form, available to download here, which gives details of all fees and ways to pay. All you have to do is complete and sign the form and return it to us together with your cheques if applicable and your application form (available to download here) and a copy of your Third Party Insurance Certificate should you wish to proceed with an application.

Mooring tackle, maintenance & parking
The mooring tackle (the weights, chains and buoys) is the sole property and responsibility of the mooring licensees. It may be possible by private negotiation to purchase any existing tackle from the outgoing licensee. Existing tackle can be lifted and surveyed, and serviced by Mr J. Smith, an independent contractor who also lays new mooring tackle when required. The positions and numbering of the moorings are monitored by the National Park Authority.
